Context

An organisation's intranet enables employees to engage at a deeper level, intertwined with meaningful communication. Before delving into this case study, let's take a moment to understand the fundamental architectural backbone behind an intranet. This foundational knowledge will facilitate a seamless understanding of the concepts depicted here.

Events are primarily created by internal communication specialists and are of a very diverse nature, ranging from weekly coffee meets and town halls to weekly DSMs and more. Events constitute a fundamental aspect of our intranet solution, as there is nothing that can bind people more than coming together for a meaningful agenda.

Problem statement

Until now, users could only view a list of events, which was not very conducive to making decisions about attending an event, especially when comparing event timings with their official calendars (Like Google calendar/Outlook calendar).

How might we offer a comprehensive overview of events across users’ schedules to facilitate quicker decision-making and provide a centralised platform for connecting and attending all these events?
